Today I had the pleasure of receiving a back massage and facial from Charlotte, and I cannot recommend her highly enough. Charlotte is incredibly kind and professional, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere from the moment I walked in. Her attention to detail made me feel truly special. During the treatment, she fostered an environment of privacy and respect, which allowed me to relax completely. The massage and facial were both exceptional—Charlotte clearly understands how to provide not just a service, but a truly caring experience. I left feeling rejuvenated and deeply appreciated. Stayed for 2 nights. Absolutely amazing, really enjoyed our stay. I like to mention the staff in particular Abbey, Liz and other staff in the restaurant. They were brilliant. I couldn't catch the names of the ladies that do room service, they are also really good and kept the room really clean and stocked up. If I have any suggestions then it would be the hotel itself which I felt a bit out dated, décor is a bit dated, furniture in the bedrooms can be more modern and updated and the bathrooms definitely need sprucing up. The spa facility needs modernising as signs of no care with peeling paintwork everywhere on ceilings. Would I go back yes most definitely I would.

Had a lovely time at the hotel and the staff are so lovely and friendly, especially the breakfast staff that were there this morning. I visited the spa during my stay and had a back massage from therapist Michelle and it was absolutely incredible. The best massage I have ever had! I think her hands must be magic and she was absolutely lovely as well. I was so relaxed afterwards. It would be worth coming back just to have that massage again. Will definitely stay again…it’s a charming place.

The food here keeps getting better each time I stay and the chef is always helpful when catering for my allergy. The staff are always helpful and efficient. Some of the chairs in the rooms are looking worn and would benefit from attention. That said the cleanliness at this hotel is excellent. The Christmas decorations were really well presented too. I will be back again soon.

I wasn’t sure what to expect before visiting Macdonald Craxton Wood Hotel & Spa after reading some mixed reviews, but from the moment we arrived, I was genuinely blown away. Abbie greeted us at the front desk with a beaming smile. We arrived early and our room wasn’t quite ready, but she went above and beyond. She gave us a quick tour of the hotel and made sure we were comfortable by the pool while we waited. That small gesture set the tone for the rest of our stay. Many reviews mention the décor, but I actually found it quite charming. It might not be the most modern, but it’s spotless, well maintained and feels homely. The spa facilities were excellent too, especially for the price. The food was exceptional. Every meal, from breakfast to dinner, was faultless and genuinely some of the tastiest food I’ve ever had at a hotel. A huge thank you job to Abbie, who made our stay so memorable, and also to Elizabeth and Izzy for their warm service throughout. An amazing place. We’ll definitely be returning and can’t wait to try another Macdonald spa soon.

Had a massage and facial by Rebecca which was absolutely lovely. She was an absolute star, very attentive and hospitable ( and the treatments were great!) The hotel itself was nice, nothing special but nice for a short break away. Food was fine, the bolognese was very bland but the burger was good, as was breakfast. Most staff very helpful.

We had the most amazing and relaxing experience from the start till the end. The leisure centre, over night stay, breakfast and the service. My husband and I were taken good care of by all the lovely staff especially your receptionist Diane. Diane was very welcoming,friendly, kind as well as going over and beyond her way to make us feel at home and make the most of our stay. She's a credit to your team.Thanking Diane is not even enough for what she did for us.We will definitely be visiting again soon.xx

The Hotel was good overall. The communal areas were nicely decorated. The room was fairly clean but very dated, especially the bathroom. There was freeview tv available which was good for the children. It was nice to have still and sparkling water taps spread throughout the corridors. Breakfast was delicious. Customer service was great. Staff were friendly and responsive.
